Welcome Bonfire
I arrived in Jacmel late on Friday March 5th, after flights from SFO to LAX, LAX to FLL, and FLL to PAP, and then making my way overland from Port-au-Prince. The next night, the folks at SIDR had a bonfire in my honor and we introduced the Haitian volunteers to the tradition of roasted marshmallows which I had brought. The firewood? Desks removed from the school that the group had been working on removing rubble from.
